When you are detoxing or even just trying to stop or reduce coffee & other stimulants, your body goes through a short adjustment period.

Some common Detox symptoms you can experience are

1. Headaches

• Why: Caffeine narrows blood vessels; without it, they expand, which can cause pain.

• What Helps:
Stay well-hydrated, get enough sleep, and try natural remedies like peppermint or magnesium.

2. Fatigue or Low Energy

• Why: Your body is rebalancing its natural energy cycles.

• What Helps: Light exercise, hydration, adaptogens like maca or ashwagandha, and getting sunlight in the morning.

3. Mood Swings or Irritability

• Why: Caffeine boosts dopamine and adrenaline. Without it, your brain needs time to stabilize.

• What Helps: Journaling, breathing exercises, and mood-boosting herbs like Rhodiola.

4. Brain fog or trouble concentrating

• Why: Your nervous system is adjusting to functioning without external stimulation.

• What Helps: Stay active, take breaks from screens, eat brain-healthy foods (omega-3s, greens), and get extra rest.

5. Digestive Changes

• Why: Caffeine stimulates the gut; without it, digestion may slow temporarily.

• What Helps: Warm lemon water in the morning, fibre-rich foods, and gentle movement like walking.

General Tips for a Smoother Detox:

• Hydrate, drink lots of ( coconut/spring) water

• Get extra rest—your body is recalibrating.

• Eat whole, nourishing foods.

• Be kind to yourself—it gets easier every day.

Most symptoms peak within the first 2–5 days and fade within a week.

Once your body adjusts, you will feel more balanced, energised, and calm
without needing the stimulants to keep you going

Activated charcoal is the #1 detoxification and longevity substance. I'd recommend doing charcoal first thing in the morning. Wait a couple of hours before you use other supplements.

Charcoal can make you constipated, so be careful with the dosage. One 440 mg capsule will not constipate you. You need to drink a lot of water when taking charcoal. Charcoal will suck up water. So that's something to be aware of: Make sure you drink charcoal and water.

To boost the alkalinity in your body you can also (and) start your morning with fresh, lukewarm (ginger) water and add some lemon or apple cider vinegar and a pinch of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt (normal table salt is not recommended!)

Try to avoid tap water and any water in plastic! Use only spring or purified water in glass when possible, if unable to harvest fresh spring water - including in making your teas, homemade blended drinks, juices, and hot raw chocolate.

Buy organic and locally grown, pesticide-free fruits and veggies when possible and avoid GMOs, pesticides, food in plastic and fast food.

Take herbs whenever you want, all day, every day. Herbal tea, powdered herbs, herbal capsules, and/or herbal tinctures (these help with energy levels and are highly recommended if you know what you are taking).

If possible, go vegan, which means no dairy, meat, poultry or fish (nut & plant-based dairy okay) and try to avoid conventional or GMO Foods.

I suggest committing to dropping coffee during the cleanse if you can but If you enjoy your coffee very much, then try to add a blend of spices (cardamom and cinnamon is very nice) and mushrooms to it to make it more of a superfood concoction!

Chia Seeds are great during your detox. Chia puddings are something I highly recommend. They are a bulking agent and demulcent and help produce healthy bowel movements.

Fermented veggies are great, like kombucha, kefir, and sauerkraut.
(I will add a video on how to make them yourself.)

Here is the list of veggies to consider BLENDING or JUICING during the detox.
Blending differs from juicing mostly because of the fiber.
Juices are great for a more immediate energy boost, and blending is excellent for imbibing whole foods complete with fiber, which is a key element for digestion and elimination. Fiber fuels the colon cells to keep them healthy, helps bulk up stools, helps clean out bacteria and other buildup in your intestines, and reduces your risk for colon cancer.

Blending and Juicing for Liquid Meals:

FRUITS & VEGGIES

Kale, Spinach, Collard Greens, Lettuce, Cabbage, Cucumbers, Red, Green, and Yellow Bell Peppers, Tomatoes, and Green Apples

If blending, use coconut water as the base.

For ZEST and FLAVOR in Your Juices, Blends, and Daily Meals:

Cayenne Pepper, Lemons, Limes, Ginger, Lemon Grass, Parsley, Turmeric, Salt & Pepper, Herbal Spices

If you are up for doing colonics and enemas, then it will help you get a jumpstart!
Do 1-2 enemas (preferably coffee enemas or with your own urine) during the week of the cleanse. Elimination and a healthy bowel are crucial for detoxification and a vibrant life.
